The Avani Victoria Falls Resort is the epitome of the old adage, “Location, location, location.” It is the closest hotel to the natural wonder of Victoria Falls whether on the Zambia or Zimbabwe side of the falls.
Located inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, this 3-star property could be described as a contemporary African hotel with a Mediterranean flare or southwestern adobe-style lodge rich in warm colors.
Visitors are provided with direct access to the falls through a simple 1,600 (500 m) walk out the back of the hotel property. Within a couple of minutes of leaving your room, you are now exploring one of the original seven natural wonders of the world.
With the proximity and included access to the falls, the Avanti resort allows you to come and go exploring Victoria Falls at your leisure. This makes for a more comfortable visit and freedom to really discover the marvels all the falls have to offer.
The multiple visits throughout the day will allow you to witness how the rainbows and colors of the area change as the sun travels across the sky. The grounds are part of the national park and there is a potential that you may spot zebra, impala, giraffe, and monkeys scampering around the grounds of the hotel. They are wild animals so take advantage of the opportunity to observe them freely, but respect them, do not feed them, and do not approach them.

The hotel is the closest hotel to Victoria Falls on either side of the border. The hotel also provides a private personal gate to the national park directly from the hotel property. Guests of the hotel can come and go between the natural wonder and comforts of the hotel as they desire.
The hotel is also one of the closest hotels to the border of Zimbabwe allowing guests easy access to cross the border and visit Victoria Falls National Park and the falls from the other side of the border.
Guest Rooms
There are 212 en-suite rooms with each featuring private balconies and African accepts to help guests feel right at home. There are options for suites, queen, double, and twin rooms. Rooms provide guests with walk-in showers, air conditioning, coffee and tea, and other anticipated amenities.
Dining
Room service is available; however, it would be hard to not take advantage of the spectacular buffets, the Little Squires steakhouse, or the Poolside Grill and Bar. Dining is open-air allowing guests to continue to enjoy the splendor of the fresh air and sound of nature.
An African Boma experience is available within a short walking distance located between the Avanti and Royal Livingstone. The Crocodile Café located towards the rear of the property is a great place for guests to eat lunch in between their visits to the falls.
Amenities
The Avanti Victoria Falls Resort is comfortable, convenient, and filled with character. Anticipated in-room amenities include satellite television, telephone, storage, a safe, hairdryer, and a writing desk. Wireless internet, laundry, services, banking facilities, and gift shops are also available.
The Kamp Kwena is a children’s area that offers a place for parents to bring children for babysitting and additional playtime.
Massage services are available, and the secluded tables are nestled in areas on the property giving you a private but outdoor experience. If you venture over to the Royal Livingstone, massage tents are found right along the bank of the Zambezi River providing additional tranquility.
The Avanti is the sister property of the Royal Livingstone Hotel which gives guests access to some of the amenities of their property. There is a golf cart and car service between the two properties, however, there is an easy path walking along the Zambezi River for a continued experience with nature.
